Stefan Weidner

works in the border area between literature and politics as an essayist, narrator, translator and cultural journalist. His focus is on the worlds of Islam, postcolonialism and Enlightenment criticism; he translates mainly poetry, including Adonis, Mahmud Darwish and Ibn Arabi. His most recent books are Ground Zero. 9/11 and the Birth of the Present (Hanser, 2021; Arabic at Manshurat al-Djamal 2022) and 1001 Book. The Literatures of the Orient (Converso, 2019).
