Sofia Andrukhovych

was born in 1982 and is a writer in Ivano-Frankivsk, in western Ukraine. She has published three books of short prose, three novels, a children’s book, and essays. Her novel Felix Austria (2014) was awarded the BBC Ukrainian Book of the Year Award and in 2015 she received the Joseph Conrad-Korzeniowski Prize. In her latest novel, Amadoka (2019), she interweaves the history of the ongoing war against Russia, 1930s Stalinist repression, and the Holocaust in Ukraine.
