Melody Makeda Ledwon
is a bilingual translator and interpreter. She translates into German and English. Her work focuses on intersectional perspectives critical of racism and approaches to Afro-diasporic history and literature, especially Black feminisms. Her translations include Entangled (Hi)stories: A Conversation between Iman Attia and Michael Rothberg (S. Fischer, 2018) and Combahee River Collective: A Black Feminist Statement (Unrast, 2019). The co-translation Angela Davis – An Autobiography will be published by Aki Publishing in October 2023. In autumn 2020, she launched the Network of Black Translators.
