raised bilingually as the son of a Spanish mother and a German father, translates from Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, and English into German, including authors such as Clarice Lispector, Hernán Ronsino, and Niccolò Ammaniti, among others. He has been awarded the Bavarian Kunstförderpreis, the Munich Literature Scholarship, and an Excellence Scholarship from the German Translator’s Fund, among others. He likes to look the Volk in the maw and movement artists in the flow, and sound is everywhere anyway: translatorial work is not only nourished by books. Together with Simone Homem de Mello, he organizes and leads German-Brazilian translators’ workshops.
