is an author, translator, and Professor of Yiddish Studies at the Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf. In 2016, her critical biography Niemandssprache. Itzik Manger. Ein europäischer Dichter was published and in 2019, Das Buch der jüdischen Jahresfeste was pblished in revised edition.  As a literary translator, she specializes in translating Hebrew and Yiddish poetry and prose into German. Her publications include bilingual volumes of poetry by Avraham Ben Yitzhak (with Christoph Meckel, 1994) and Itzik Manger, (2004, expanded edition 2016).
