Uljana Wolf

born in Berlin in 1979, is a poet and translator. She has published four volumes of poetry and numerous poetry translations. Her essay collection Etymological Gossip. Essays und Reden (kookbooks 2021) was awarded the 2022 Leipzig Book Fair Prize in the nonfiction/essay category. In her essays and poems, Wolf listens for the “rubbing as linguistic continental plates collide” (Denis Scheck). Translational migrations or translingual simultaneities of words open the texts to eminently political questions about borders and language politics. In May 2022, Uljana Wolf curated the international literature festival Poetica VI in Cologne.
