Tomer Gardi

born in Galilee in 1974, lives in Berlin. He studied literature and education in Tel Aviv and Berlin. After his literary essay Stein, Papier (original 2011, German, 2013), his debut novel Broken German, written in German, was published in 2016, from which he read at the 40th Days of German-Language Literature in Klagenfurt. Directed by N. Brusilovsky, the radio play of the same name received the ARD German Radio Play Award in 2017. Die Feuerbringer – Eine Schlager-Operetta (directed by S. Krings) was selected by the German Academy of Performing Arts as Radio Play of the Month for February 2018. For his novels Sonst kriegen Sie Ihr Geld zurück and Eine runde Sache, Gardi received various grants and awards in 2019, 2020, and 2021. In 2022, he won the Leipzig Book Fair Prize with Eine runde Sache.
