Stefanie Hirsbrunner

is a political scientist, bookseller and publisher. Trained as a hotel manager, she is the author of several non-fiction books, including Sorry about Colonialism and Hotel Five Stars. Most recently, she edited the anthology Could This Be Love, a collection of essays on the topic of mixed relationships, published in 2022. Since 2018, she has run the two-times winner of the German Bookshop Prize InterKontinental and the eponymous publishing house together with Karla Kutzner and Venice Trommer. She is also the director of the African Book Festival Berlin, which celebrated its 5th anniversary in 2023.
