born in 1980, holds a Master’s degree in Visual Culture Studies from the Berlin University of the Arts and translates, writes, researches, and curates events with a focus on contemporary Arabic literature. She has translated collections of stories, poetry, and nonfiction by Rasha Abbas, Kadhem Khanjar, Aref Hamza, Bushra al-Maktari, Aboud Saeed, Assaf Alassaf, and Raif Badawi; she has founded  übersetzer:innenzentrierten, the semi–profitable agency collective teneleven.org for contemporary Arab literature, and the Downtown Spandau Medina literary festival.
