studied ethnology, Malay studies, and sociology at the University of Cologne and Indonesian at the Universitas Gadjah Mada Yogyakarta. After her studies, she worked as a lecturer at Politeknik Cimahi, West Java, and as a project coordinator at the Goethe-Institut Bandung and Jakarta. She lives in Cologne and works as a freelance translator for Indonesian and English. In projects and in cooperation with the Goethe-Institut and the Frankfurt Book Fair, she is committed to rendering translation and (Indonesian) literature more visible. Her translations from Indonesian include novels, short stories, and plays.
