born and raised in Hungary, now lives in Berlin. She is a bilingual poet and translator. In 2017, her poetry collection Das Eine was awarded the Peter Huchel Prize. She primarily translates new Hungarian poetry, often in collaboration with Monika Rinck and Christian Filips. In 2021, Kalász, together with Rinck, was awarded the Erlangen Literature Prize for Poetry in Translation for her translations of contemporary Hungarian literature.
