Orest Smovzh

is a violinist and developer of musical concepts, as well as a co-founder of Collegium Musicum Lviv, Melaka Classics, Dzenzelivka Classical Week, and a member of Kyiv Contemporary Music Days. He has commissioned and premiered some 40 works from leading composers in Ukraine and collaborated with the Orchestre des Champs-Élysées, Suntory Hall Chamber Music Academy, Thomas Hoppe, Fazıl Say, Masaaki Suzuki, and his teacher Midori. He has received lessons from Ferenc Rados, Leon Fleisher, Gyorgy Takacs-Nagy, Thomas Hampson, and Nigel North, and has performed in Europe, North America, Asia, and Australia. His artistic interests include concert program design, contemporary music, and historical performance.
