Miquel Cabal Guarro

born in Barcelona in 1977, is a literary translator from Russian into Catalan and a lecturer in translation and Russian literature at the University of Barcelona, with a PhD in sociolinguistics. He has published over forty translations of authors such as Dostoevsky, Dovlatov, Alexievich and Platonov. He is treasurer of the European Council of Literary Translators’ Associations (CEATL) and a member of the working group on working conditions. He is also a member of the board of the Association of Writers in the Catalan Language. In 2021, he received the Barcelona City Prize for the translation of Dostoevsky’s Crime and Punishment.
