Maxim Kolomiiets

is a composer, oboist, and performer. He studied oboe (graduation in 2005) and composition (graduation in 2009) at the National Academy of Music of Ukraine, and studied composition (with Johannes Schöllhorn, graduated in 2016) at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Cologne. He is a laureate of the national competitions Gradus ad Parnassum (Kyiv, 2000) and Step to the Left (Saint Petersburg, 2012), the Skoryk Competition (Lviv, 2021) and the III Prize at the Varel Composers’ Prize (Oldenburg, 2015). His compositions have been performed at international festivals such as MATA Festival (New York), Darmstadt Summer Courses for New Music (Darmstadt), New Talents (Cologne), Donaueschingen Music Days, Warsaw Autumn (Warsaw), and World Music Days (Leuven). One of his two operas was performed in a concert version by the Kyiv Symphony Orchestra in October 2020.
