Manfred Metzner

lives in Heidelberg as the publisher of Wunderhorn Verlag, founded in 1978, whose focus includes literatures from Africa and the Caribbean – e.g. Dany Laferrière and Patrick Chamoiseau. In the series ‘AfrikAWunderhorn’, more than 30 authors from Africa have been published since 2010 in their first German translation. Since 1983, the press has been the publisher of Édouard Glissant (Martinique), the most important representative of postcolonial discourse and the discourse on the creolisation of societies . The ‘world map of poetry’ is created, among other things, with the bi-/trilingual series ‘Continental Drift’ (e.g. The Black Europe, The Persian Europe, The Arab Europe). His publishing house was awarded the top prize of the German Publishing Prize in 2023.
