Jonis Hartmann

was born in Cologne in 1982. He lives and works as an author, editor, translator and organiser in the Schlump district of Hamburg. He is the editor of the literary magazine TAU, which is dedicated to bringing together literature and readers for the Hanseatic-Nordic perspective of Hamburg and publishes prose, poetry, essays, drama and non-genre works. Recent works include Diane Wakoski: Zehn Gedichte (Urs Engeler, 2023), Bob Kaufman: Steinalter Regen / Einsamkeit bis übern Rand (ELIF, 2022) and Paul Bowles: Fast nichts (roughbooks, 2020). He has received work and residency grants for his poetry translations and works. The focus of his work is listening.
