
Asmus Trautsch was born in Kiel. He is a philosopher and author living in Berlin. After studying philosophy, German literature, and composition/music theory, he received his PhD in philosophy from Humboldt University in Berlin and taught at several universities in Germany and the United States. He publishes philosophical texts, essays, poetry, and translations. He directs the Academy for Poetry Criticism (Akademie für Lyrikkritik) at the Haus für Poesie and in 2021, curated the interdisciplinary “Festival of Collaborations with Alexander Kluge and Friends” at the Literaturhaus Berlin. Most recently: Der Umschlag von allem in nichts. Eine Theorie Tragischer Erfahrung (2020) and his second poetry collection, Caird (2021).
