Asmus Trautsch
was born in Kiel and lives as a philosopher, poet and curator in Berlin. After studying philosophy, German literature and composition/music theory, he earned a doctorate in philosophy at the Humboldt University in Berlin and taught philosophy and literary writing at several universities in Germany and the USA. He publishes philosophical texts, essays and poetry and translations from English and Latin. He directed the Academy for Poetry Criticism at the House of Poetry and curates interdisciplinary festivals, exhibitions and literary programmes. Since 2022, he has been director or the translationale berlin. His most recent publications are Der Umschlag von allem in nichts. Eine Theorie Tragischer Erfahrung (de Gruyter, 2020) and the poetry collection Caird (Verlagshaus Berlin, 2021).
