is a presenter and literary critic with a focus on literatures from the Global South (Indian subcontinent, Maghreb, Arab world). She has been a member of the Bestenliste Weltempfänger since 2011; from 2010 to 2014, she was a jury member for the International Literature Prize at the Haus der Kulturen der Welt, and in 2015, she was chair of the German Book Prize jury, among other things. From 2019 on, she has been a permanent member of the coordination team of the UNESCO City of Literature Heidelberg. In 2022, together with the actress Maria Hartmann, she led a workshop on moderation for translators at the Akademie Wolfenbüttel for the second time. When she’s not reading, she’s reading.
